WOMEN RISING! NEW VISIONS FOR A POST-PATRIARCHAL WORLD<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>SAN FRANCISCO, CA \u2014 <\/strong>The Women\u2019s Spirituality graduate studies program at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) is excited to announce Women Rising! New Visions for a Post-Patriarchal World,<\/em> a dynamic 2.5-day conference to be held October 12\u201314 at the CIIS campus.<\/p>\n

Women Rising!<\/em> will gather 200 visionaries, educators, artists, practitioners, care workers, and social justice activists, including keynote speaker Sherri Mitchell<\/strong> and other Women\u2019s Spirituality trailblazers, such as Charlene Spretnak, Starhawk, Arisika Razak, <\/strong>and Lucia Chiavola Birnbaum<\/strong> to celebrate the inspiring and groundbreaking eco-social justice work that women do.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are at critical juncture in human evolution,\u201d says Dr. Alka Arora, core faculty in Women\u2019s Spirituality at CIIS.\u00a0 \u201cMovements such as #MeToo, #TimesUp, #BlackLivesMatter, #IdleNoMore, and #NeverAgain are creating profound global change. Women are at the forefront of such movements, and Women Rising! <\/em>grows out of the spiritual and political movements of today, seeking to redress the misogyny, sexual violence, institutionalized racism, economic oppression, and ecological devastation that patriarchal societies have wrought.\u201d<\/p>\n

This landmark conference includes breakout sessions, workshops, live performances, ceremonies, film screenings, networking opportunities, an evening with Jennifer Berezan & Friends in concert<\/strong>, the Once and Future Goddess<\/em> art exhibition<\/strong>, AmyJo Mattheis\u2019 one-woman play From Eve to Me<\/em>, <\/strong>the Women\u2019s Spirituality 25th<\/sup> Anniversary Book Awards<\/strong>, and more. It\u00a0seeks to honor, ignite, connect, and empower every person\u2019s innate divinity and invites participants to\u00a0celebrate and co-create a visionary culture and activism that promotes a plurality of voices and change-makers who are actively building a new, post-patriarchal world.<\/p>\n
